Hi my name is Michelle Morales and Ms.Derubeis was my digital art teacher and photography teacher. I remember the first time I met her we talked and became best friends. Junior year was very tough for me and I knew I had to reach out to someone. That someone was her. She helped me go through so much and always checked ip on me. She helped me get help and would never forget to reach out. She came out with cancer and I was devastated. My depression got a hold on me and we stopped talking for a bit. Next thing you know, I lost my best friend. She sent me this picture she took. I will forever cherish my best friend and teacher in my heart.

It is with great sadness to hear of Claudia's passing.  My prayers for God's comfort and peace go out to her family and friends during this time. Claudia was a positive, cheerful and encouraging young lady who brightened everyone's day.  She was truly beautiful inside and out.  May God rest her soul.

The first time I met Claudia was thru her mother Angela. Claudia joined her to walk for charity at the MS walk in downtown WPB.  I remember Claudia so vibrant and  full of life.  She had such a beautiful smile and jumped in asking if she can help in any way 

She is someone u don't forget once u were blessed to meet her.  CLAUDIA Rip 🙏.

I met Claudia only a few months ago but I was immediately struck by her passion and love for photography and for her students.  I have never met anyone more engaged and alive which makes it even harder to accept that her voice is silenced in this world.  I agreed to take over her classes, thinking that I would be creating a bridge so that she could get her strength back and return to work.  Unfortunately, man proposes but God disposes.  It will be an eternal mystery to me or at least until I get to the other side as to why her wish was not granted.  I will continue to cover her classes to the best of my ability and dedicate this year to her memory,

Claudia DeRubeis you were my sunshine, always walking into my classroom with such a big smile and positive, good energy. To hear that you are no longer with us, breaks my heart. I know this long battle with cancer was the biggest battle you had to face, but you still had a positive outlook and remained strong. I am gonna miss our talks, and your kind soul. Rest In Peace my beautiful fighter!

Claudia, you were such an inspiration to many and a pure light. I will cherish all the memories we shared together, along with our long talks, and the positive advice you would give. You helped me in so many ways and you truly are dear to my heart. I will miss your gentle soul ,kind heart, warmth and smiley face in the classroom. Im blessed to have had you part of my life. Till we meet again! Love you. 

I met Claudia through her sister Frieda, my friend and coworker.  Claudia exhibited a light hearted upbeat personality that made you comfortable and feel as though you were family. Her presence lit up a room wherever she was. She took captivating photographs and charmed many an animal with her natural magnetism.  She was one of a kind and will be remembered forever.  Now she rests, knowing no pain and will be reunited with Frieda.

The art students and staff of John I Leonard High always looked forward to the yearly Lake Worth Street Painting Festival that Claudia organized and participated in.  

In Sacramento CA, when Claudia finally met Bryce. His only photographer. He loved her constant pranks!! 


Claudia was like an extra sister to me, very important both to me and my family. When my husband and I eloped and then had a small after-party at my mom and dad's ranch, she was included.  They didn't have any cats or dogs as she usually befriended, but here she is with my dad's horse Prima. 
I have so many remembrances of Claudia that it's hard to narrow anything down to a certain memory. It's better just to say that she'll live on in our hearts and that she is dearly loved. 

My strong, free spirited and silly Gemini friend.   Thank you for befriending this once shy and awkward girl from the class of ‘91. I will forever remember your fearlessness, sense of adventure, and laugh. You will be missed on this plane, but I know that you have transitioned to something even more perfect and beautiful.

Can’t imagine life without being able to pick up the phone and talking to Claudia. We have been friends for over 25 years, and she was there for all the memorial moments. To know her was to love her❣️Girlfriend, I miss you.

There was never an adventure that Claudia wasn't up for! She opitimized optimism and fun and always seeing the bright side of life. Claudia was my first and best friend on Singer Island, and i remember the day she confidently walked right up to me and my dog while we were walking to the beach by the Pump House, introduced herself, and proceeded to accompany me to the beach. That was just one of many wonderful wanders I had with Claudia around Singer Island. Her take on life was always unique and refreshing, and her cheerful happiness will be unmatched. xo love u claudia
