Born on October 26, 1936, in Ošljak, Croatia, David's life was marked by his deep love for his family, work ethic, accomplishments and his unwavering commitment to those he held dear. He was a man of remarkable strength, character, and integrity, known for his tireless work ethic, culinary expertise and his ability to find joy in all of the moments of life.
David’s professional life was a testament to his leadership, expertise and dedication. As an electrical engineering manager and executive at American Electric Power and JCPenney, he left an indelible mark on the companies he served. At JCPenney, he played a pivotal role in the design and development of the company's headquarters in Plano, Texas. His leadership and vision were instrumental in the success of many projects, and his name is proudly engraved at their headquarters in recognition of his significant contributions.

David was particularly proud of his family, often sharing the achievements and milestones of his children and grandchildren with great joy. He had a remarkable memory, and his storytelling — especially of his childhood on the Dalmatian coast, his migration to America, and his time serving and as a veteran of The United States Army, captivated all who had the privilege of knowing him. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) degree from the City University of New York on September 1, 1968, a milestone that was accomplished while working full time and starting his family that marked the growth of his career in engineering and leadership.
In retirement, David and his wife, Maria, lived their dream life — traveling through Europe, enjoying the beauty of the world, and savoring quality time with family. His passions also included fishing/claming in Montauk, NY, and spending winters with his family and friends in beautiful Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, where he loved the beach, the pool, community volunteering, walking, spending time with friends and family, cooking and tennis. David also gave back to his community, serving as a leader in his local homeowners association and contributing to the well-being of his neighbors.
