Edward Anthony Souza, age 83, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, passed away on October 14, 2021. He was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts in 1938. He was an engineering graduate of Mesa Community College in Arizona. He and his family moved to North Palm Beach, Florida in 1970. He was a parishioner of Saint Clare Catholic Church, a member and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Santa Maria Council 4999 and a daily communicant of Our Lady of Florida Spiritual Center and Saint Clare Catholic Church.
He served four years in the United States Air Force where he met his late wife Priscilla Ann Wiggins of Charleston, South Carolina in 1959. The were married for forty years. He then married his present wife Doris Martis Souza in 2003. Ed is survived by one son, Edward A. Souza Jr. and wife Kim of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; two daughters, Sandra Ann Redavid and husband Michael of Palm Beach Gardens, and Ann Maree Cogburn and husband John of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He has four step children, Janet King and her husband Scott of Austin, Texas; Jesse Souza of Westcliffe, Colorado; David Souza and his wife Becky of Houston, Texas; and Jeffery Souza and his wife Susan of Jupiter, Florida. He has fourteen grandchildren, Ryan Souza, Alexis Souza, Kaitlyn Cogburn, Megan Cogburn, John Cogburn Jr., Julie Redavid, Mitchell Redavid, Jason Souza, Adam Souza, Christina Souza, Jillian Souza, Tyler Souza, Matthew King, Sara King and two great grandchildren, Madelyn Souza and Molly Souza. He has one deceased brother, Kenneth Souza and sister Lorraine Grant of New Bedford, Massachusetts.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 22 from 6-8pm at Howard Quattlebaum Funeral and Event Center, 754 US Hwy 1, North Palm Beach. A mass of requiem will be held on Friday, October 23, 11:00am at St Clare Catholic Church, North Palm Beach.
