She was devoted to her family, and was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Jane was born on January 19, 1933, to Arthur and Alice (Johnkoski) Greenberger of Morristown, New Jersey. She graduated from The College of William and Mary, and married Charles James Turner II, her loving husband of 53 years, in 1954. He predeceased her in 2007.
After Charles served in the Navy for four years, and then graduated from the University of Illinois in 1958, they lived in Morristown and then Poughkeepsie. They raised their five children in Medford Lakes, New Jersey, where Jane often said she was her happiest. Many of her life-long friendships were made at the Medford Lakes Country Club, where they were members for over 40 years. Her love of golf gave her much enjoyment. Jane was also a long-time member of the Board of the South Jersey Golf Association. Summer vacations spent on Long Beach Island were happy, special times. Throughout her life, Jane loved reading, traveling, decorating in a cozy, modern style, playing golf, and appreciating art. Charles and Jane enjoyed entertaining their family and friends, and Jane was a fun-loving hostess, serving delicious food, always stylish, full of wit, humor, and interesting conversation. Friends around the world still enjoy her “Turner Cake”. She is remembered fondly for her thoughtfulness in sending beautiful, handwritten cards for all occasions. Jane loved visits from her family and being nearby to her wonderful daughter Tracy and her Muller-Caracuzzo family while living in Florida. Jane had many dear friends, and was a Board Member and President of her Condominium Association. Jane loved her family, helping others, and making people smile. She was cherished by her family, and will be greatly missed by all. Jane, “our beautiful Mommy”, is survived by her four daughters, Meg Turner of Honolulu, Hawaii, Rebecca and Mark Holden of Redding, Connecticut, Melissa and Kevin Robertson of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Tracy Muller and Scott McNett of North Palm Beach, Florida: seven grandchildren, Peter V and Barbra Muller, Zachary and Ashleigh Muller, Amanda and John Caracuzzo, Chelsey Robertson and Tracey Robertson, John Holden and Luke Holden, and six great-grandchildren, Peter VI, Tesla and Axel, Mya and Kyle Caracuzzo, and Jude. Her son, Thomas Christopher Turner, predeceased her. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Elizabeth Turner, many cousins, nieces and nephews, who truly loved and admired their Aunt Jane.
She was a member of St. Paul of the Cross Parish in North Palm Beach. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
