Janet Eaton Maynard

Janet (Cary) Eaton Maynard, age 88, longtime resident of PGA National of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Saturday, April 19, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Mildred Cary Eaton and Carl Leslie Eaton. Janet grew up in Winchester, MA, graduated from Lasell College, and was married to her high school sweetheart, John Ayer Maynard, who died in 2005. They lived for many years in Winchester and in Saint Paul, Minnesota, before retiring to Palm Beach Gardens. Janet was active in the Winton Club in Winchester, the Skating Club of Boston, North Oaks Golf Club in Saint Paul, Arden Hills (MN) Curling Club, and PGA National Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens, volunteering at many PGA events and the Ryder Cup at the Belfry in 2002.

Mrs. Maynard is survived by daughters Cary (Eaton) Maynard DeCenzo (husband Mike) of Singer Island, FL and Becky (Ayer) Maynard Alter (husband Peter) of Topsham, ME; grandchildren Joseph DeCenzo of San Antonio, TX, Chris DeCenzo (wife Wendy) of Atherton, CA, Kate Lewis (husband Kevin) of Annandale, VA, Janet Stocco (husband Mac) of Belgrade, ME, and Will Alter (wife Kate) of Braintree, MA; and ten great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life for Janet Eaton Maynard is planned for July 3, 2014 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Lasell College, 1844 Commonwealth Ave, Newton, MA 02466.
