John Christopher Redding

John was born on Christmas Day, 1955 in Princeton, NJ. He attended Pennington School before moving to Palm Beach Shores in 1973 where be continued his education at Palm Beach Academy, St. Leo's and North Technical Education Center.

John loved fishing and owned Juno Bait and Tackle for 10 years. He also enjoyed hunting and racing RC cars. As some activities became more challenging, John developed an interest in computers and assisted many friends and neighbors who would stop by for advice. John was a junior member of the Pennington First Aid Squad and a manager for baseball, football and basketball at Pennington School.

John is predeceased by his father and mother, John B. and Annetta Remmer Redding. He is survived by his sister, Katherine Benson of Orcas Island, Washington and his brother and sister-in-law David and Judy Redding of Cranbury, NJ and several nieces and nephews and his legal guardian, Barbara Behl of Tequesta, Florida.

John suffered from a rare bone disease known as Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva (FOP). Despite his handicap he was determined to be independent and inventive. He was fortunate to have some very special people who cared for and about him. His guardian Barbara, his nurse and friend Nancy Turizo and his caregivers, Dolores Hamilton and Gary Knight all gave him special loving care. John's family thanks them for their dedication.

Also, a special thanks to James "Jimmy" White, his friend of 30 years, and Roby DeReuil, his neighbor, for their friendship to John over the years. It meant a lot to John and his family to know they were always there for so many years. The family also extends a warm thanks to Kim Shields, for being a friend to John in recent years.

A celebration of John's life will be held at Sailfish Marina, 98 Lake Drive, Palm Beach Shores, FL on Saturday, March 21st at 12:00 to 3:00 pm.
