He was born on January 15, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Staten Island, NY when he was 5 years old. When he was 21, Leif entered the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Everglades. After the Navy, he began his 34 year career with Proctor and Gamble (Port Ivory). He retired in 1992 and moved to Jupiter, FL where he resided until his death. He was a proud member of the Sons of Norway, The American Legion, Moose and Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his ever-loving wife Phyllis; his four children, Kenneth, Robert (Dawn), Diane (Erling), and Jacqueline (Corey); his three grandsons, Jared, Liam and Robert; and his two loving sisters, Joan Mullen and Sonja Sweeney. He was preceded in death by his parents Ida and Leif Hubertz.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 10 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Howard-Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation and Event Center, 754 U.S. Highway 1, North Palm Beach, FL 33408. A service will be held on Tuesday, August 11 at 10:30 a.m. at Riverside Memorial Park, 19351 SE County Line Road, Tequesta, FL 33469. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Leif’s hone to St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
