Trish Reilly was born in Bildeston, Suffolk, England to Charles and Florence Ord on September 7, 1935. She passed on February 15, 2023, in West Palm Beach, Florida.
In 1951, she met her future husband, William (Bill) F. Reilly, who was serving his second stint in the military in the U.S. Air force at Bentwaters Air Force Base, not far from Bildeston. In 1952, they were married and had their eldest son Daniel Reilly, In 1953, Bill, Trish and Dan made their way across the Atlantic eventually residing in Connecticut, where Donna Marie Reilly and William (Bill) Reilly, Jr. were born. After a summer vacation to Florida in 1966, the family moved to West Palm Beach until Bill retired in the early 1990’s. After Bill retired, the two moved to Tallahassee, Florida tobe near their youngest son’s family. In 1996 they moved to Port St. Lucie.
From June to August 1963, Trish took the three children to visit her childhood home in Bildeston, her first trip back to England since 1953. If there ever a trip was of a lifetime, this trip surely was, as the children got to visit their grandfather, worked at a butcher shop, delivered milk, worked at a beachside ice cream shop and visited London.
Trish was an avid reader, a lot of people put books up on a shelf for decoration, but if they were on her shelf, she had read them.
On November 9, 1965, Trish and Bill made their way to New York City asTrish had an audition with the game show Jeopardy. Their train out of New Haven to New York City was delayed and she arrived late for the audition. Not all was bad, as just a few hours later, the Great Northeast Blackout of 1965 started. Since they left the city early they were able to get home that night.
Trish and Bill, Sr., traveled in both the U.S. and Europe until Bill became too ill to travel in his mid-80s. After Bill’s death in July 2017, Trish moved to West Palm Beach where she lived with her daughter Donna.
Trish was predeceased by her parents, her husband Bill, twin sister/brother Daisy Sharp (Trevor) and Alec Ord (Dot). She is survived by her three children Dan (Trudy), Donna and Bill, Jr. (Michelle), three grandchildren John Reilly, (Sarah), Meghann Miller (Chris) and Sarah Reilly and two great-grandchildren Riley Miller and James Reilly.
The family would like to thank the staffs at Whitsyms Home Care, Wellington Hospital, Palms West Hospital, Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center and Trustbridge Hospice who cared for her in the last year of her life. A service is planned at a later date when all family and friends can travel.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.howard-quattlebaum.com for the Reilly family.
