Born January 9, 1920, in Akron, Ohio, to Emmett & Ethel Brady, Peg was the fifth of 12 children. She married Richard “Dick” Kempel on April 19, 1944.
Mother of five, she suffered the loss of her oldest son Michael, a Navy Corpsman killed in Vietnam in 1970. The Kempels were charter members of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. They were Stuart, Florida snowbirds for 15 years and moved to Palm Beach Gardens in 2008.
She is survived by her husband Richard, daughter Margaret, son John and daughter-in-law Joanne Noesen, son William “Bill” and daughter-in-law Janet Nehrenz; son Dennis and daughter-in-law Pixie Hranilovich; grandchildren Stephanie Marie Kempel, Allison Michelle Kempel, Christopher William Kempel, Joseph Lawrence Kempel, and John Richard Kempel, and her sister Grace Brady Schreiner Dunn, and 70 nieces and nephews.
Donations in her memory will be accepted by the Michael Richard Kempel Memorial Scholarship Fund at Archbishop Hoban High School, 1 Holy Cross Blvd., Akron, Ohio, 44306.
