November 13, 2019       I just learned of Jane's death a few days ago.  She was my sponsor coming into the Catholic Church almost 20 years ago now; it seems like yesterday.   At that first RCIA meeting, Jane and I looked at each other, and it just seemed as though God was drawing us together.   I was so blessed to have had someone as godly as Jane walk with me during my journey into the Church, and I still consider her one of the most loving and influential persons in my life.  Words cannot express the deep love I have for her and how much I have missed her since my move out of Florida.  We maintained our friendship and phone contact up until 2009, and I would send her a Christmas letter every year after that until the death of my own son in 2016.   I made a week-long visit to Jane two different times in 2003 and 2007 after I moved away.  She always had the lovely front bedroom all ready for me, and it was like a visit to a heavenly home.    Such love in her home always!   I remember all the times we got together in that holy house with all the people from the pro-life community.   Jane really initiated me into the Catholic life and culture at that time.  What a life changer my time with her was.   

Compassionate, wise, filled with the Holy Spirit, unconditionally loving, affirming, every single beautiful virtue and quality a person could possibly have--that is Jane.  

She loved her family so dearly, and I send you my love and condolences;  truly I know how much you must miss her.   Our Faith tells us that our communion with her is not in the least diminished but even closer than if she were here on earth.  She prays for us and loves us still!  And I offer my prayers that she is beholding the Face of God at this moment.

I am looking at the family photos offered here, and they are FANTASTIC, or early unknown photos. Why is a young Kevin in the margin of every photo looking at the photographer? And why are there like dozens of kids around Kevin and then the kids diminish after awhile? Kevin keeps looking forward throughout. Not sure what's up, and why these were included? But, it's worth noting from family members as "family photos." Unique. 

Love, love this woman, crucial to my youth. I tried to buy a plane ticket home but couldn't afford it & right before the start of the semester.  But, I'd do anything to be there to celebrate Jane McGann. She's one of the most amazing people I have ever met -- wonderful MOM, amazing NURSE (first generation HIV/AIDS nurse in the 1980s). Courageous, fearless, and always loving. She always had her home open for everyone, and we always wanted to be there because of her and her wonderful family. That woman knew how to create a family, always and all of the time. Sending sympathy and regrets (I should be there for you all, my second family, and I am sorry) to Michael, Laura, Kevin, Patti, and Mark.  I will go to church once again for your Mom and light a candle and figure out stuff.  She'd like that. Much love, Dina

When I was a teenager, back in Miami, my mom once told me "Stay away from those older women. They will make you fall in love with them, and then, they will leave you in the end." Boy, was she right... again. And, it continues to happen to me, as I consider Jane McGann a dear and close friend, even though she was 24 years older than me. What an incredible human being! In all my life, I have never, ever met a person with such compassion, with such humility and with so much inner peace within her as Jane McGann. I will miss her dearly and will keep her in my memory every time I save an unborn baby from the hands of a ruthless abortionist.

Jane McGann was one-of-a-kind and they don't make them like that anymore. A religious, humble woman like Jane only comes around once in a lifetime - and I thank GOD it was during mine...

MAY JANE REST IN PEACE FOREVER IN HER HEAVENLY FATHER'S LOVING  ARMS WHILE HOLDING HER BELOVED HANK'S HAND ONCE AGAIN - AND PREPARE TO CELEBRATE THEIR "58TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY" TWO-GETHER IN HEAVEN! TWO PEAS IN A POD - NOW, REUNITED WITH GOD.

I met Jane at Thursday Scripture Group.   I will always remember her kindness and wisdom.  She had such a caring spirit and I feel truly blessed to have known her.  My sincere condolences to her family and friends.  

I worked with Jane at PBG hospital from 1987 to 1990.  She was always kind towards me and immediately made me feel as if I was part of the PBG and St Ignatius family. She was a team player and always kind towards our patients. She would always encourage and pray with the patients especially those that were fearful and discouraged. She has a special place in my heart. My condolences to the entire family . 

I am saddened to hear of  Jane’s passing. I worked with her at the hospital and I always knew that whatever happened, whatever needed to be done, no matter what demands her own assignment required of her, she would do anything she could to help others. She never complained and would gladly take on difficult tasks. Her devotion to the Lord was always visible and she was truly an angel on earth. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Her husband Henry W. McGann and her brother James Keenan preceded her in death.  Her five beloved children, Mark McGann (Christine), Kevin McGann (Franchesca), Patty Eginton (Charley), Laura Mack (Robert) and Michael McGann (Sylvette) along with 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and countless cherished relatives and friends, survive her.
