Age 82 died on Sunday, September 9th. He is survived by his wife Ann of 42 years and loving father to children Sherry Shaverdi, Matthew Scurry and Scott Scurry; and step children Michal Brosseit, Teresa Brosseit, Patrick Brosseit and Andrew Brosseit, numerous grandchildren and friends. Matt was truly loved and respected by all who knew him. He was an honorable man who was active with his church at St. Paul of the Cross and with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He was also very active with Kairos, a prison ministry. He was the Faithful Navigator of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Matt was a loyal friend and was always ready to serve his many friends in any way that he could. He was very talented and kind. He is now with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There will be a viewing at Howard Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation, and Event Center on Thursday, September 13th from 6-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11 AM on Friday, September 14th at St. Paul of the Cross Church. Burial will follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at any Catholic Church.
