Michael William Meers

Michael was born on March 14, 1971, to Robert Meers, Sr., and Carole Meers in Worcester, Massachusetts. He spent his childhood in the close-knit communities of Cohasset, Massachusetts, and Singer Island, Florida. He attended Cohasset schools from pre-school through twelfth, graduating from Cohasset High School. He then completed a post-graduate year at Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia before earning a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Mississippi.

As an entrepreneur, Michael built a career spanning real estate development, retail store ownership, and childcare services. The hallmark of each venture was rooted in his desire to provide service to others in his community.

Michael had many passions, but sports—especially football—held a special place in his heart. He played with dedication and enthusiasm from his youth through high school, post-graduate studies, and college. He also found joy and serenity at sea, whether boating with family, big-game fishing with close friends, or simply enjoying the salt air at the docks. His vast knowledge of marine life and wildlife delighted and amazed all who knew him.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Carla Martins Meers; his stepdaughter, Juliana; and his son, Johnathan Michael, from a previous marriage. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Meers, Jr., and his wife, Karen; his sister, Barbara Meers O’Neill, and her husband, Donald O’Neill. He leaves behind his cherished nieces, Danielle Stoeckle and her husband, Sean; Noelle Meers; Madigan O’Neill; and Callahan O’Neill, his great-niece, Estelle Stoeckle, and godchild Luísa Martins. We can’t forget to include Snow, their beloved dog.

Michael’s deep love for family and friends was evident in his enduring loyalty and kindness. Michael had a larger-than-life personality, with an infectious smile and a boisterous laugh. He was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be missed until we all meet again.

Services will be private, with burial at a later date.
