She was born on February 22, 1942, in Cavite City, Philippines, to Magdaleno and Ester (Lopez) Santos, the oldest of six children. Myrna graduated from the University of the East in Manila in 1962 with a degree in Commerce. She worked as an administrative assistant at the United States Naval Base at Sangley Point, where she met her husband, John Engle.
After marrying John, they relocated to the United States and settled in Palm Beach Gardens, where they raised their two sons. Myrna had a distinguished career at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft from 1980 until her retirement in 2000. In retirement, she found joy in gardening, attending daily mass, and, above all, devoted being a grandmother to her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, John Engle, her sons, Steven John (Lorena) and Kevin Russell (Rebecca), and her grandchildren, Tyler Matthew and Andrew Michael.
A memorial service will be held at St. Clare’s Catholic Church in North Palm Beach on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 10:00 AM, followed by a graveside service at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth at 1:00 PM.
