December 22, 1941 - December 2, 2017
Patricia Randolph Schwartz died suddenly on December 2 2017. We remember and celebrate her love and commitment to her family, her sense of humor, her laughter and her willingness to help and give to others. Her generosity to many – friend and strangers alike – leaves us with memories of one who was truly our role model.
Pat was born in Washington D.C., attended the University of Wisconsin and Fisk University, and graduated from Howard University School of Law in 1967. She met David, the love of her life, in Washington while practicing as a public defender. They married in July 1969 and reared three sons in the city. They later moved to Florida, where they enjoyed spending time at their local beaches and participating in activities at PGA National.
After 41 years of blissful marriage, she lost David in September 2010 following his valiant battle with cancer.
She returned to Florida, traveling frequently to Houston to visit her sons and their families. She continued to live a good life, and actively maintained her health.
Pat was a member of the Washington D.C. Bar Association and actively supported issues including higher education, cancer research, and assisted senior citizens or anyone she knew who needed help.
She is survived by three sons, Jonathan, Aaron (Katherine) and Michael (Dan McCracken); four grandchildren: Israel, Aaliyah, William and Everly; a great-grandson, David, a nephew, Lawson F. Cooper, Jr., and many other family members and friends.
Close friends and family are asked to contact any of Pat’s sons for information on a small memorial service to be held in Florida on April 14th.
Please direct any donations to Meals on Wheels of the Palm Beaches or the Hubbard House at MD Anderson Cancer Center - Orlando.
