Peggy Anne McPherrin

Peggy was born in Mineola, New York on Long Island on November 30,1963. She was the youngest of six children born to Theodore and Peggy Kuminski. Pam, twelve years Peggy’s senior, was the oldest, followed by brothers Kevin, Brian, Teddy, and Keith. The family lived in Garden City. Sadly, one month before her fifth birthday Peggy’s father lost his battle with colon cancer. Thereafter, mom moved the family to Palm Beach County, initially living on Singer Island and later in Palm Beach Gardens and North Palm Beach.

Peggy attended Palm Beach Gardens Elementary, Howell Watkins Middle, and Palm Beach Gardens High, graduating in 1981. During those years Peggy made many friends, a number of whom she remained close to up until the day of her passing. Her father’s battle with cancer left Peggy wanting to pursue a career in nursing. Peggy began that pursuit while still in high school, working as a nursing assistant, and upon graduation enrolled in nursing school. Peggy spent 37 years in nursing and loved every minute. She was a “patients nurse,” always advocating on their behalf. Peggy’s career included 10 years at St. Mary’s Hospital, five in the emergency room, and 25 years at the VA Hospital. Peggy retired in 2020.

On April 16, 1994, Peggy married David McPherrin. The couple had one child, a daughter, Kenzie Anne, born on March 17, 2000. There was no greater joy in Peggy’s life than being Kenzie’s mom.

In February of 2022, Peggy was diagnosed with a form of cancer - uveal ocular melanoma. Peggy battled hard, fighting cancer on her terms, but never shied away from the fact that death was inevitable. On the morning of January 16, 2026, Peggy’s life came to an end. Peggy died peacefully in bed at home, Kenzie holding her hand and David watching over her.

Peggy was predeceased by her parents and brothers Kevin and Keith. She is survived by her husband, David; daughter, Kenzie; sister, Pam; brothers, Brian and Teddy; and her brother Keith’s children, Alyssa, Keith, and Jonathan and their children.
