Reinhold Wagner was born in Kaiserslautern, Germany in 1929. He emigrated to the USA in 1951. Although educated in the accounting field in Germany, and worked in the town government, Reinhold was eager to start working in his new country and took a job in the laundry department of St. Francis Hospital, in the Bronx.
In 1952, Reinhold married his hometown sweetheart, Maria, and started working for Con Ed in a low entry position in the Electrical Generating Dept. He continued to work for Con Ed until 1987, having achieved the position of Electrical General Watch Supervisor.
For many years Reinhold volunteered his time to the Con Edison credit union, formerly known as Waterside Federal Credit Union now known as QSIDE, eventually becoming the Chief Financial Officer, helping to advance its greatest growth in membership and assets at that time.
Reinhold and Maria raised three children, all of whom married and proudly welcomed grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Retiring to Palm Beach Shores, Florida, Reinhold continued to volunteer his time as President of their Home Owner’s Association and on the town Environmental Committee. He and Maria enjoyed travelling and welcoming visits from family and friends.
A celebration of his life will take place at St. Paul of the Cross, Palm Beach, Florida at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Parish of Transfiguration-St. Stanislaus Kostka, 57-15 61st Street, Maspeth, NY 11378.
