
Robert Badge Demers passed away from Covid-19 on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at 71 years of age. He was born on November 25, 1949, in Hartford, Connecticut to the union of Adella R. Badge Demers and Joseph Robert Demers. He was their only child.
Robert and his parents moved to Florida in 1958. Robert attended Palm Beach Elementary School. He then attended Miami Springs Junior High School and graduated from Riviera Beach Senior High School in Riviera Beach, Florida.
Robert worked as a custodian for St. Mary’s Medical Center and Toys R Us for most of his professional life before retiring in 1998.
In his younger years, Robert spent a lot of his time traveling, seeing and experiencing everything he could. In his spare time, Robert was fond of taking walks with and caring for his dog.
Robert is remembered as a kind soul and devout Christian. He liked to visit various churches and learning about the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Robert did not have what many would consider an easy life. It had its hardships, but it was also filled with more kindness than most are used to. Robert’s life and passing are proof of the outpouring of goodness in all of us and the generosity of others.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents. He has now joined them in eternal rest. He is now free of the cares of this world and dwells with the Heavenly Hosts.
He was cared for by many friends. He leaves to cherish his memories many relatives and friends. Among his special friends are John and Liz Meunier, John Mullen, Gary Kendall, Rick Jenne, Rogene Ellis and Connie Tipton. He also leaves his friend, guardian and caretaker, Marlene Mack, who was at Robert’s side for more than twenty years.
Memorial and Celebration of Life services will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at 6970 42nd Way North, Palm Shores 33404.
