

Age 87, passed away on August 28, 2020. Robert was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 25, 1933 to Charles and Esther DeVerna. He graduated from Brooklyn Prep where he was an All City swimmer and football player. Robert was a Korean War Veteran. He raised his four children in Seaford, New York with their mother Patricia. Robert later married his wife Mary Lou DeVerna and they moved to Stamford, Connecticut. He worked as a Local One Stagehand for CBS and Broadway and later a Theatrical Lighting Executive at Four Star Stage Lighting. After retirement, Robert and Mary Lou moved to Jupiter where they lived a wonderful life for the past 25 years. Robert was an avid golfer where he was an active member at Huntington Country Club, Pelham Country Club and Frenchmen’s Reserve. He also enjoyed the beach and spending time with their many friends.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 38 years, Mary Lou; his daughter Kim McGarry and husband Thomas; his son Robert DeVerna and wife Lynn; six grandchildren Liam, Tara, Kyle, Bridget, Maggie and Grace. He was preceded in death by his sons Brian DeVerna and Darren DeVerna, his grandson Gavin McGarry; his siblings Frank, Charlie, Aileen Mahoney and Joan O’Malley.
Robert enjoyed life to the fullest and will be greatly missed by his wife, family and friends who loved him dearly.
