Born on May 28, 1938, in Flushing, New York, he was the son of Thomas Edward Reed Sr. and Helen Reed. Thomas dedicated much of his life to public service, including serving in the United States Coast Guard and with the Bethpage Volunteer Fire Department and the Great Neck Alert Fire Department. He later served as an Assistant Fire Marshal for the Nassau County Fire Marshals Office, where he was known for his commitment, integrity, and dedication to the safety of others.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lola Reed; his daughters, Janet and her husband Gary DeJesu, and Christa and her husband Patrick O’Shaughnessy; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Edward Reed Sr. and Helen Reed, and his sister, Barbara.
Thomas will be remembered for his strong sense of duty, his quiet strength, and his devotion to his family. He leaves behind a legacy of service and care that will not be forgotten by those who knew him.
Burial will take place at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida.
