

Bill built a life marked by dedication to his family, career, and passions. In 1969, he moved to North Palm Beach to begin his career at Fidelity Federal as a loan officer. His hard work and leadership led him to roles as a branch manager and vice president. Later, he transitioned to Nationwide Insurance as a sales manager, a position that took him across Florida—Gainesville, Boca Raton, and Ormond Beach—as well as Houston, Texas. Eventually, he returned home to Palm Beach Gardens and rejoined Fidelity Federal as president of its insurance division.
Beyond his professional achievements, Bill was known for his adventurous spirit and love of life. He found joy in riding his Harley, driving his Corvette, and lobster diving in the Florida Keys. Traveling was another passion of his, but above all else, he cherished time spent with his family. He married the love of his life in 1978, and spent 46 years as a devoted and loving husband. Bill was deeply involved in the lives of those he loved, a staunch advocate for his children and grandchildren. Bill was not only a great coach but also a natural leader who inspired those around him.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Sallie W. Lay; his sons, William (Sandy), Michael (Jill), and Thomas (Maureen); his grandchildren, Emily Radentz (Matthew), Michael Lay, and Olivia Lay; and his great-granddaughter, Charlotte Marie Radentz.
A funeral service will be held on February 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church,13301 Ellison Wilson Road, Juno Beach, Florida . A reception will follow at the Twisted Tuna.
Bill's legacy of love, adventure, and leadership will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be missed every day of our lives.
