

Nice, as Zella was called affectionately, was the youngest child of Joseph Dunn and Rosalind Rosetta Dunn formerly Bryce of Lebanon, St. James Parish.
Zella was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Linton. Daniel, Jim, Roy, and husband Stenneth Blake of Manchester Parish.
Zella left home at age 15 to work as a seamstress in Kingston, in time sewing for the pantomime and
becoming a fan of Louise Bennett. Zella throughout her life enioved reciting her poetry. Zella then traveled to Toronto, Canada, where she was a nanny for a Canadian family as well as working at the Branson Hospital. She often spoke fondly of her time in Canada and of seeing Niagara Falls. Zella returned to Jamaica again working as a seamstress until opportunity to immigrate to the US enabled her to travel to Wayzata, Minnesota in 1968 as a domestic. She was joined by her children and husband. living in Minnesota for the next 14 years until relocating to Palm Beach County Florida where she and her husband remained until his death in 2007 and continued to live surrounded by family until this time.
Zella is survived by her son, and daughters; Valomar Bucher Dunn (Kathleen Rowen Dunn) and children Richard Dunn (Rebecca, Tobias, Davidae) Elizabeth Brabant (Chad, Lews, Lyndon); Shirley Blake (Jharice, Gyllie-Ann, Michaela, Erik); Mellissa Sloan (David, Sophia); Sharon Blake (Rashieda) and beloved extended family both in the states and abroad. As well as the many lives she has touched over the years with her sense of humor and genuine love and kindness. She rests now in her eternal hope and faith of her Lord's "soon come.”
A visitation for Zella will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Howard-Quattlebaum Funeral Cremation and Event Center, 754 Us Highway 1, North Palm Beach, FL 33408. A funeral service will occur Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at West Palm Beach First Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 6300 Summit Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33415. A graveside service will occur Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens, 5601 GREENWOOD AVE, WEST PALM BEACH, FL 33407.
