

Devoted husband to Carren, his wife of 54 years; loving father to Kerry, Chuck, Skye (Ben) and Erin; doting grandfather to Jacob, Tyson, Joel, Jace and Sophie; brother to Joanne; beloved brother in-law and adored uncle to his many nieces and nephews. Kind and loyal friend to many.
Charles grew up in Boston Bar, BC. He attended boarding school in Vancouver at Vancouver College and graduated from Magee Secondary School. He began his career at 20th Century Fox in Toronto and then worked for Birks Jewellers in Vancouver, where he met his wife. He returned to Boston Bar in the late 60’s taking over the management of the family busines, The Charles Hotel. There Charles and Carren raised their 4 children until the late 80’s. Upon the family’s return to Vancouver, he continued his career as an entrepreneur in a variety of ventures.
An avid outdoorsman Charles enjoyed fishing, hunting, skiing, snowmobiling, boating, motorcycling and camping with friends and family. He was president of the Lion’s Club in Boston Bar for many years and active in community service, including as a volunteer firefighter and as part of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Parish. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and together they took many trips to locations around the world. He also took his family on many adventures as they grew up, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Charles never met a stranger. He was a friend to all and whatever he had he shared.
