Clarice Roberta Chandler was born to Percy and Edith Chandler in Herronton, Alberta.
During the war years, she joined the RCAF Women’s Division where she met her husband John, a member of the Royal Australian Air Force, who had come to Canada to train under the British Commonwealth Air Training Program: they were married in 1944.
After the war ended, they spent three years in Australia before returning permanently to Canada.
A wonderful gardener, she also had a long term interest in arts and crafts, creating exquisite painted silk scarves and intricate stained glass at the West Vancouver Senior Centre.
She contributed to the community for many years as a tireless volunteer with the Canadian Arthritis Society, the Cancer Society, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, and Meals on Wheels.
Clarice was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Edith, her step-father Pat Perry, her husband John Millard, her brothers Bill (Ruth) Chandler and Brian Perry and her beloved sister Mary (Ray) Despas.
She is survived by her daughter Janice (Myron) Stutzman, son Christopher (Camille) Millard, grandchildren Loriel, Mark and Daniel.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Clarice’s wonderful care givers from Home Care West and to the loving staff at Hollyburn House for their devotion in her final years.
