David Richard Code

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Dave Code, a beloved husband, father, brother and friend, who succumbed to cancer on May 15, 2026, at the age of 76.

Dave was the youngest of seven children born in Mossbank, Saskatchewan to Anne and James Code, who laid the foundation for a life that would touch many.

In 1961 the family moved to a dairy farm in Langley, BC where he completed his high school education before attending BCIT taking Instrumentation Technology. Dave's educational pursuit continued at UBC earning a BSc in Chemical Engineering.

This educational path set the stage for a remarkable career in the Pulp and Paper industry for twenty years before establishing his own company, Sunshine Automation Services. For the next 32 years, Dave's expertise took him to various pulp mills around the globe where his work was greatly appreciated.

This included 4 years living and working in Indonesia. His final years were spent providing support to his clients from his home office, leaving a legacy of competence and professionalism.

In 1970, Dave married the love of his life, Linda Mowles, in Langley. Together they crafted a beautiful life filled with love, laughter and unwavering support, celebrating over 55 wonderful years of marriage. Their union was blessed with two children, Katherine and Stephen (Marissa) who carry forward Dave's spirit of kindness and integrity. His family was always his greatest pride and joy.

Dave is also survived by his sister, Shirley and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his BUMWAH friends, golf buddies, Rotarians, workmates and his special lifelong friends Marvin, Don, Lorne and Greg.

Dave was a beacon of warmth and wisdom who's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His life was a testament to the power of love, dedication and community service. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit continues to inspire and guide his family and friends. May he rest in peace knowing his life was well lived and deeply cherished.

We wish to thank to the Palliative Care Team and Ors Dhawan, Hourigan, McCall and Goojha for their care during the last few months of Dave's life.
