Dear Lee-Ann and Devon,

I am so saddened to hear of Donna’s passing.  I have so many great memories of my time working alongside Donna at SSU.  We had some crazy adventures - memories that I will forever cherish.   The both of you and Cali are in my thoughts.

Our Condolences on the passing of our old friend Donna.I met Donna at high school( tupper)in the 70s.she was always upbeat and a kind person.I remember she liked to watch me work on TVs and electronics when we were teens. When I think of Donna, I see her with those twinkling eyes, a big generous laugh and the best dimples ever.   Such a fantastic sense of humour and smart. She was strong, fiercely loyal, protective and so very proud of her favourite people ❤️

For more than 15 years I had the amazing pleasure to know Donna.  Back in 2009 we had the fortune to move our office upstairs from SSU and very soon, mostly due to some spills from our water cooler dribbling on the gang downstairs we became fast friends with Donna and her team.   From her legendary Christmas parties to the Chicago-Vancouver Stanley Cup playoffs and all the many, many interns we had (and all the crazy stories) Donna was the centre of it all… Industry, Vancouver and everyone that knew her lost someone great….. Her incredibly disarming nature and inquisitiveness in everything… always pushing the envelope. The dozens of folks we placed with her all recognized her nature… her impact was felt by many, and I am happy to have had any part in giving folks the chance to know her. She will never be forgotten and I know I will miss her.

When I first moved to Vancouver in August 2022 from Ireland, I was adrift. I knew virtually no one, was intimidated by unfamiliar surroundings, and was desperately trying to find my feet as the winter months approached. I sought employment and found an advertisement for a company called SSU, hoping to learn a bit about the workplace outside of the traditional classroom setting that I had become so accustomed to as a teacher for many years prior to my move. It was there that I met Donna. 

Despite my lack of experience, Donna took me under her wing. 
Her affable nature, bubbly personality and hugely uplifting presence was incredibly welcome during a time where I was struggling to settle into a new country. I recall our trips to Kamloops, Victoria and Surrey with great fondness and the laughs that she, Devon and I shared in the car on the way home.  I will forever be grateful of the comfort that she afforded me at a time in my life when I needed it most. 

Although my tenure in SSU was brief as I ultimately opted to return to work in the education sector, Donna made an enormous impression on me. I'll always remember her with great fondness. May she Rest in Peace.

Donna was a bright spark in the lives of all who knew her. She was a stalwart friend and staunch professional support for me for many years. I have recently started a new venture and was eager to tell Donna about it. She was so pleased for me, and we thought we saw a way to work together on one aspect of my vision. It was very exciting, and so all the more shocking when I learned of her sudden and untimely passing. Truly she will be sorely missed. My heart goes out to her family and closest associates. May her memory be a blessing to you all.

I’m so saddened to hear this tragic news.  I knew Donna through Chelsie and Devon.  They played basketball for me at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) in Tifton, Georgia.  Although we never had the chance to meet in person.  I considered us to be friends.  Donna was always so welcoming and loved all of her daughters and family so very much.  My heart breaks for all of her family and friends.  

We both thought it was so sweet that we each had Cali’s.  My daughter is Cali and Chelsie’s daughter is Cali.  That’s so special.  We had always said that we wanted to meet in person and Donna always told me that I was welcomed to visit them in North Vancouver.
