I was very sad to learn of Ed's passing.  Ed and I were friends who met at UBC Fine Arts.  I have so many memories of hanging out with Ed, going to cafes, parties, music venues, and also practising our drawing.  Ed was a very talented artist, from  representational to abstract.  I have a charcoal portrait he did of me, that shows a skill reminiscent of Van Gogh.  Ed and I kept in touch over the years, mostly by phone the past several years as I live in the suburbs now.  Ed always asked about my kids and sent his regards to them and my partner.  My condolences to Ed's family: his mother whom I met and his sister who I did not meet.  Ed was always fearlessly individual and I believe he's now found amazing peace beyond our imagining.--Maria Stevenson (Ladner BC)
