She is survived by her loving husband Adrian of 62 years, daughter Lorraine (Jack), daughter Rosemary (Dale), son Paul, son Daniel (Sharon), grandchildren: Kimberley, Amber, Danny, Michael, Isaiah, Chase, Jonah, her sisters Elsie, Rita, brother Dave, sisters-in-law Juanita, Elaine, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gladys was born in the small community of Rich Valley, Alberta in 1927 and grew up on a small farm. She and her sister Elsie moved to the BC coast as soon as they graduated high school where she got a job working for Woodward’s Department Store. She met her husband, Adrian at a dance in Vancouver, they married in 1958 and moved to North Vancouver in 1966 where they raised their four children and where she resided until her passing.
She enjoyed getting together with friends and family, she loved to bake, she was an avid bowler, guide leader, and an active member of her church in the Catholic Women’s League for over 60 years.
Mass of Christian Ceremony will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2725 Lonsdale, North Vancouver, BC on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 10:30 am. Prayers will be held on Tuesday night at 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to the Palliative Care Unit at Lions Gate Hospital would be appreciated.
