With broken hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Glenn Robert Berg, age 56, on December 15, 2025, while rucking with two good friends on MacKay Creek in North Vancouver. Glenn passed instantly, mid-stride, doing what he loved—moving with strength, purpose, and joy.
Glenn was the beloved soulmate of Barbara Berg, married for 20 years, the proud and devoted father of Coreen Mara (Ryan) and Cameron Alexander (Chelsea), and the joyous “Grampy” to Georgia and Wyatt Mara. His happiest days were spent with them—watching cartoons, playing games, dreaming of adventures, and holding his grandchildren close with radiant love and pride.
Glenn was the beloved son of Linda and Terje Berg, and cherished brother to Kyle (Yuri) and Erik (Sally), Uncle to Arden, Laila, Ethan, Carleigh (Michael, Weston, Audrey), and Reid (Amy). He had a close relationship with his in-laws (Lynn, Craig), and Aunt Judi. In 2007, he found his birth mother Ros Hurren/grandfather Max – he was embraced by the whole Hurren family - Francie, Margo, Jenny, Max, Pam - who welcomed him with open arms.
Glenn lived life to the fullest. He was never afraid to try new things and speak his mind. He was constantly learning and taking up new hobbies such as long-distance shooting, CrossFit, emergency preparedness, and ham radio. Glenn had an incredible 18-year career with Microsoft and authored 3 books. With a Master’s in Economics, he was a proud SFU scholarship donor (Enterprising Achiever Award). He enjoyed travelling (53 countries), 80s rock music, snowboarding, Canucks, Seahawks, Jets. He taught us to never give up, to always work hard, be independent, see all perspectives, enjoy life, and be grateful for our wonderful and loving family. Forever “living the dream” and in our hearts always.
