Hilda will be lovingly remembered by her children: Jamie (Joye), Cameron (Robyn) Barbara (Sean). Hilda will also be forever remembered by her 8 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Hilda’s life was a rich tapestry of treasured moments. She met the love of her life in Winnipeg Manitoba, John Livingston Mackenzie. Together they created a home life in North Vancouver BC. They raised a family of 4 children. Peter John, William James, Cameron Livingston and Barbara Louise. Tragedy struck in 1970 when their eldest son Peter John passed away. With strength and courage, Hilda and John moved forward and continued to live their life with grace and humility.
Hilda’s love of her life, John passed away in 2005. She once again moved forward with strength and dignity to live out her days.
Hilda’s parents John and Mary Percival emigrated from England to Winnipeg, where Hilda was born and raised, along with her sister Irene, and Brothers Raymond and Arthur. Hilda’s siblings have all predeceased her.
Hilda enjoyed sharing the holidays and special occasions with her family. Hilda’s father, John was an ever present figure in her family life until he passed. Family was important to her and she cultivated and nurtured that part of her life.
Hilda and John spent many years exploring the waters of the west coast with their boat the Merry Mac’s. Hilda became an accomplished golfer and had two holes in one over the years.
Hilda said many times, “When the Lord wants me, he will come and get me”. She was called home and will be forever etched in our hearts and minds as a lady with strength, courage, humility and grace. She will be missed.
There will be a celebration of life for Hilda at 2 pm January 12th, 2020 at First Memorial Funeral Services and Boal Chapel and Memorial Gardens. Address is 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver BC. Family and friends are welcome.
