It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our Father on December 28, 2018. Pre-deceased by his wife Elly Marie in 1981, he is survived by his son Steen (Susan), daughter Birthe (Joe), 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren along with many other family members and friends in BC and in Denmark. Jorn was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on February 23, 1925 and immigrated with his family to BC June 1957. The family resided in many areas throughout the Lower Mainland before settling in North Vancouver. Growing up in Copenhagen, Jorn was a butcher by trade. In the early part of the 60’s along with his brother-in-law Benny, wives Elly and Verny, Jorn owned and operated Scandia Delicatessen for many years. Later Jorn opened a new business, Lars Cycle Bicycle Shop in Westview Shopping Center. Jorn retired in 1989 and moved to White Rock. The last years of his life were spent at Dania Home in Burnaby. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Dania Home who cared for our Dad until his passing. There will be a private gathering to honour, celebrate, and remember this wonderful, kind, caring man. A Book of Condolences is available through First Memorial Funeral Services.
