It is time to say goodbye to Ken who passed away peacefully at Inglewood Care Centre. He was predeceased by his sons, Russell and Jefferey, sister Shirley and parents Lydia and John Beairsto. He leaves behind his wife of 64yrs, Joan; son Todd, daughter Traci (Joe) and grandson Joel (Sarah). Brothers Jim (Fern) Ian (Margaret), sister Jackie, four nieces and a nephew.
Ken was born and raised in Regina Saskatchewan. He received his Chartered Accountant’s Degree in the early 1960’s and transferred with a CA Firm to BC in 1965. Some years later, he went into private practice, where he greatly valued the personal relationships he had with his clients.
Ken soon fell in love with the outdoors, especially hiking, boating, swimming and camping. He was a jogger in his younger years and belonged to the 500 mile club. He also coached his son’s soccer teams and belonged to the Lions Club. He was a fierce competitor in racquet sports, enjoyed skiing and some lawn bowling. He was also an avid reader and crossword puzzler.
Ken would have enjoyed pouring you a drink to celebrate his life and passing.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the kind and caring staff at Inglewood Care Centre where he spent his last few years in comfort and acceptance.
So, if you are out and about near the mountains or ocean, take the time to think of Ken and his love of the outdoors.
