and passed away on Sunday March 3, 2019.
“They are calling in the Class” & Warren Leonard McDonald was called Sunday March 3, 2019. Family and Friends were everything to my father and there is no one in our family or friends at some point didn’t received help from him. He was always there the “Rock” of the family. Dad was truly the last of the old school his word was his word and he took his commitments and responsibilities absolutely and unwaveringly.
Dad dropped out of Kitsilano High School in grade 8 to drive truck & buses Ventura Cartage, Canyon Carriers, T&H, Carson Truck Lines, West Vancouver Blue Buses, Van-Kam, Collingwood & Bodwell School Buses. One of my fondest memories when Dad took me on a trip with him sitting on his lap steering the big truck blowing the air horn and playing in the sleeper, talking on the CB.
Most of our childhood Dad was on the road Monday to Friday, both Monique and I waiting for that call from Dad what Chocolate Bar & Soda did we want as our weekly treat. Both of us starring out the front window waiting for him to arrive home and to pounce on him as soon as he walked thru that basement door. Dad was old school but not in every way since he was on the road so much and the duties of running the house and raising us fell pretty much solely on Mom, Dad always took us kids on the weekends giving Mom some time to herself and allowed her to get her stuff done.
Both Dad and Mom were so brave at the ends of their lives “Nothing is forever” Warren passed at home with me by his side the gas fire place on and his Country Western Music Playing he went so very quickly, peacefully and painlessly.
Warren was predeceased by his wife Laila, sister Sharon, brothers Alan & Keith McDonald Father Alonzo & Mother Freda. He is survived by his Sister Shirley Francioli and daughters Monique and Ashley McDonald.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.MeM.com for the McDonald family.
