Lori was born on February 11, 1962 in Victoria, B.C. and still as a pre-schooler, relocated with the family to the Deep Cove neighbourhood of North Vancouver in 1968.
Lori was the second youngest of seven sisters and brothers to parents Bernadette and Kenneth Helfrich. To Lori and all of the Helfrich's, family was everything and all seven were each others life-long best friends.
Lori attended Burrard View Elementary and Windsor High School, where she gained many friends and took her place as a 'Cove Kid' of the sixties and seventies. Lori began her working career as a teenager at Dollarton Drugs, had a brief stint with the L.C.B. before returning to retail at the Lynn Valley Pharmasave. In her early 30's Lori changed careers to the insurance industry, starting with Defieux-Saxelby of North Vancouver, where with experience, studies and accreditation, she advanced thru different levels of insurance work, eventually specializing as the executive commercial marine c.s.r. and senior staffer at Navis Marine Insurance Brokers before her retirement at age 60.
Lori enjoyed many forms of pop/rock music, reading, muscle cars and drag racing. She was a doting mom to her cat-kids and always made sure that the jays, songbirds and crows, squirrels and racoons were looked after.
Predeceased by parents Bernie and Ken, brother Ken, sisters Denise and Karen. Lori is survived by husband Tony, special fur-baby Rascal, siblings Dan (Monique), Lynn (Ed Thomas) and John, brother-in-law Ron Whitman, as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
