Lynn passed away late in the evening of September 24th, surrounded by family. Predeceased by husband Jim and brother-in-law Art. Survived by children John (Jynelle), Jim and Jeana (Jan), and very dear granddaughter Kaitlyn. Also survived by sister Renata Mihailoff, nephew Michael (Michelle, Sara & Matthew) and niece Marisa. And finally the many friends and kids that graced her door.
Lynn was born in Vancouver and spent her formative years on Prior Street where she made many life-long friends, and developed her strong, independent character. In 1965 Lynn met James Burton who she would marry in April of 1970, and enjoy 32 years of marriage. Shortly after starting a family in 1976, they would move into Westover Road, the house Lynn would call home for over 48 years, and lovingly refer to as the Burton Zoo.
In 1988 Lynn went back to work at the BC LDB while raising her family. Soccer, strings, skiing and ballet were just part of the host of activities Mom had us participating in. After 19 years, Lynn retired in 2007 and began to take time for herself. Trips around the world would fill her calendar as well as weekends away with friends.
An exceptional cook, affectionate dog lover, and loyal friend, Mom cut a wide circle. She was a source of strength to many, and a fiercely loyal and supportive mother to her children & daughter in-law Jynelle. Her granddaughter Kaitlyn was a special source of pride and Mom never missed an opportunity to spoil her little 'tootsie'. And finally her devoted sister Renie, with whom she was able to spend her final month, committed and causing mischief together until the end.
