Dec 25, 1937 Born in Hong Kong | Jun 6, 2023 Died in North Vancouver, Canada.
Mom passed peacefully on Tuesday June 6th with her three boys and her husband by her side. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Nai Cheung. She was born to Joseph Wong and Anna Goh in Hong Kong on Christmas Day, 1937.
Mom grew up in Hong Kong, where she first met Dad in elementary school. They married in 1963 after Dad returned from Japan after university. In 1964, she gave birth to Vitus, then Joe in 1968 and Simon in 1971.
Mom worked as an accountant, supporting Dad and his engineering shop in Hong Kong. During the week, Mom and Dad worked hard. But on the weekends, we would drive out to the countryside on day trips, enjoy many meals with relatives and friends, and host many parties.
Life changed in 1984. At the age of 47, the whole family moved to Canada and settled in North Vancouver, which Mom and Dad called home. Over the next 20 years, her “kids” grew up and Mom got herself four wonderful grandkids: Markie, Jacob, Payton and Charlotte. She loved being a grandma and adored her grandkids.
Family aside, Mom was a social butterfly. She loved hanging out with her friends and made new ones along the way. She maintained close relationships with her old friends and relatives all over the world. She is a life-long learner: still taking English classes in her 70’s, partly to learn, partly to meet people.
Mom is survived by her husband Nai Cheung; and children Vitus, Joe (Tara), Simon (Heather), along with grandchildren: Markie, Jacob, Payton and Charlotte.
