

Gilbert, Margaret Howie (nee: Keller) passed away peacefully on September 17th, at Chenchenstway Care Facility in Burnaby.
Margaret was born on September 4, 1937, in The Pas Manitoba to Charles Robert (Bob) Keller and Rebecca Keller (nee Howie). Margaret moved with her family to Vancouver in April 1938 where she lived until marrying in 1960. She moved to Vernon, BC in February of 1960. She and her then husband, Clinton Armstrong, welcomed a daughter, Karin Rebecca later that same year and a son, Michael Joseph Clinton in September of 1964.
Margaret moved back to the Lower Mainland in 1974 where she began working at the head office of Canada Safeway until 1994 when she happily retired.
In 1982 Margaret married John Wayne Gilbert. They were married until he passed away in 2005.
Margaret loved to travel with John, her friends and daughter. She especially loved going to Reno, Las Vegas and on cruises.
Margaret was an avid reader. A book was never far from her grasp. She loved cats; especially, Angelina. They were constant companions until she had to go into care.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband, John, her parents, brother, Peter Keller and son, Michael. Survived by daughter, Karin Armstrong, son-in-law, David Oakes, sister, Mary (Nan) Boudreau, brother-in-law, Ray Boudreau and nephews, Adam McBride, Peter McBride, James McBride and Matthew McBride.

Funeral service and reception will be held at First Memorial Funeral Services Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver, BC., on October 21, 2024, at 10:00 AM.
