Marilyn will be greatly missed by her children who each feel so fortunate to have had such a loving, kind, supportive and generous Mom. She was truly a special person and was deeply loved by everyone who knew her. As well as her children, Elizabeth, Alan, Mairi (Patrick) and Barbara (Shan), Marilyn is leaving behind many others who were so important to her: her three grandchildren, Matthew, Spencer and James; her brother, Ernie (Elsie); her nieces, Erin and Elena; and her Aunt Ann. Marilyn was predeceased by her husband, Alan, to whom she was married for 57 years.
Marilyn was an extremely strong and resilient lady who was passionate about her family. She adored her grandchildren and, of course, her beloved granddogs. She never complained no matter how difficult things got and she would never say no to a call for help. She was known for her never ending smile and she smiled and laughed right to the end. Marilyn spent much time just learning what she could and was so happy when she could share and be helpful. Marilyn and Alan also enjoyed many years of travelling together both with and without their friends.
Marilyn was well looked after at Cedarview Lodge and the family wishes to thank all those who spent so much time and effort in caring for her.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.firstmemorialnorthvancouver.com for the Wood family.
