Jean’s family is saddened by her recent death in the Dogwood Care Home, Vancouver, B.C. She was transitioned into care after a brief stay in hospital. She fought a lengthy battle with both leukemia, basal cell cancer and Alzheimer's.
Jean was born in Fort William (Thunder Bay) to Larry and Marjorie Stacknick who predeceased her.

They nurtured and cared for honey bees for a time and Jean taught American Sign Language to deaf people and their families.
Jean was also predeceased by both maternal (Stewart) and paternal (Stacknick) grandparents, a younger sister, Debbie Draper of Marathon, Ontario, a younger brother Bill Stacknick, of Elkford, B.C., step-brother, Clayton Yandle, of B.C. as well as numerous uncles, aunts and cousins over the years.
Jean leaves to mourn older brother, Larry Stacknick of Thunder Bay, older sister, Heather Norhaugen of Ignace, Ontario and younger brother Chuck, also of Thunder Bay, as well as several nieces and nephews and step-daughter, Carlyn Yandle of B.C.
Special thanks to Cousin Gerry Perrier (Gord) of Saskatchewan for her ongoing love and support.
Sincere appreciation and thanks to the team at Dogwood Care Home in Vancouver for their caring and vigilance. They were key in setting up visual and verbal communications with Jean during her last months in care.
