Muriel Angela Lowden, affectionately known as Angela to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, at the age of 92 in Vancouver, BC. Born in Saskatoon, SK, on January 25, 1932 to Ronald and Muriel Gadd.
Angela lived a long and fulfilling life marked by her intelligence, loving nature, and selflessness.
As her family moved West, Angela's early years were spent at Queens Hill School, Vancouver, where she cultivated a love for learning that stayed with her throughout her life. It was at the Kerrisdale Presbyterian Church young people’s group that she would meet her husband of 66 years, Bill.
Angela embarked on a career that began at the bank, where she was known for her keen mind and warm demeanor. She later transitioned to bookkeeping for the family business, W.H. Lowden, where her sharp attention to detail contributed significantly to its success.
Angela was always there to help others, whether it was sewing a Halloween costume, providing thoughtful advice, volunteering at a local hospital, or lending a helping hand to neighbors in need. Angela's heart for service always shone brightly.
Angela was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill, with whom she shared many wonderful years of marriage. She is survived by her son Christopher, daughter Donna, grandson Andrew, granddaughter Ann Marie, and four great-grandchildren, who will continue to honor her legacy through the values she instilled in them.
We celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the countless ways she enriched our lives. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the memories of her love and the lessons she taught us will remain forever.
A memorial service will be held on March 8th, 2025, at Kerrisdale Presbyterian Church at 2:00 PM. 2733 West 41st Ave. Vancouver, BC.
