

Patricia Janet Waters, daughter of Allen of Manitoba and Margaret of Ontario, passed away from Alzheimer's Disease Sunday January 14, 2024, just 5 days after her 93rd birthday. Cherished mother of Pamela Waters. Adored Gma of Cole (Alison) Waters, Kristy Waters, and Kylie Waters. She was preceded in death by her brother Robert Nixon and son Craig Waters. Patricia was born and raised in New Westminster.
She grew up enjoying ice skating and tennis. She also loved adventuring out on the water in her father’s boat named Patricia. She was the spitting image of her mother. Patricia attended Duke of Connaught High School where she excelled in dramatics and journalism. She enthusiastically took part in the Ro-Co-Ho Auxiliary and Girls Hi-Y Club. Patricia was also the editor of her graduation book. In the 50’s she owned a restaurant, Pat's Fish and Chips, in White Rock. She continued her education at the University of British Columbia where she earned a Bachelor’s of Education. She became a Librarian in elementary schools. After retiring she started the business Airport Greeters of Vancouver BC. It ran for nearly 15 years with 5 employees. Patricia had clearance to sterile areas at the Vancouver Airport to meet immigrants or visitors from overseas and assist them in their travels. She was able to cover several languages including German, Spanish, French, and Mandarin. Tish, as her friends called her, loved to travel. She said you should always have something to look forward to.
In her later years, she fondly enjoyed her afternoons spent with her friend Victor reading the paper and taking walks in Central Park. Patricia was the epitome of elegance and grace. She carried herself in a way that could only be described as inspiring as at all times she represented her best self to those around her, never letting any negativity or hardship show. She had such warmth and compassion for those around her, even her quiet presence was impactful, and there is no question of her generosity and willingness to help others. Patricia will always be remembered for her spirit, her kindness, and her optimism, but she will live on through the lives she touched.
