Peter emigrated to Canada in 1974 with his wife Petina (Pat) – (Deceased), and daughters Lou-Anne and Karen. Peter settled his family in North Vancouver and remained in his house on the North Shore after marrying his second wife, Carole in 1994.
Peter practiced accounting and received his Certified General Accountant (CGA) designation in 1982. Over the years he held various accounting positions, rising to more senior management roles over the years. He spent the last several years of his career teaching in the Business Management Program at Vancouver Community College, which was his favourite, since it never felt like work.
Peter was very wise and had a keen mind. He always welcomed the opportunity to learn, teach someone something new, and share his knowledge, which was impressive.
Peter was fond of the arts. In his early days he was first violin in a youth orchestra and as a young adult had lead roles on stage with local operatic productions.
Peter enjoyed reading, usually several books at a time, oil painting, and listening to opera and classical music which was always playing in the background during dinner. He took piano lessons and practiced the more difficult pieces because they were more challenging. In the past several years, he took guitar lessons and started playing the violin again.
Peter passed away peacefully on the evening of April 26, 2022 due to heart issues complicated by Covid-19. He is survived by his wife, Carole, two daughters, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Dear Peter, Dad, Grandpa, Papa… we miss you.
