

With deep love and gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Robert Scott Aver, who left us peacefully at the age of 75 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose warmth, humor, and zest for life touched everyone who knew him.
Born in 1950 in York County, Ontario to a proud military family. Scott grew up with a strong sense of discipline, adventure, and curiosity about the world. His life was a journey that spanned provinces and passions from Ontario to Alberta, Saskatchewan, the Yukon, and finally British Columbia, with unforgettable memories and friendships made in each place.
Scott raised his two children in St. Albert, Alberta, and was a constant source of support, humor and love. A man of many chapters, he had an early career in radio, where his voice graced the airwaves. Later, co-owning a small pizza restaurant, combining his entrepreneurial spirit with his love of food and people. He eventually transitioned into a long career of pension sales, where his natural charisma and trustworthiness earned him success.
He was a man of many passions. A self-proclaimed foodie with a deep love of music, Scott was always ready to share a great meal, a glass of wine, a new song, or one of his countless entertaining stories. He was a golfer, a lover of travel; especially to Mexico and Palm Springs, where he loved visiting friends.
What truly defined Scott though, was his love for people. He cherished his friends, treasured the bond he shared with his children, sisters, nieces and nephews. Nothing brought him more joy than time with his three beloved granddaughters, he took great joy in watching them grow, always cheering them on with love and pride.
Scott lived a full and joyful life, defined by laughter, love, and connection. He will be remembered for his humor, vibrant stories, and deep love for those around him. His presence was a gift, and his legacy lives on in the memories shared by all who knew him.
He is survived by his children, Rob (Lesley), Julie (Kevin) and his adored granddaughters, Kayley, Ada, Emma; also, his dear siblings, Marilyn (Brian), Barbara (James), and Douglas (Aisha). Scott is predeceased by his father Bob, mother Florence, brother Peter. He will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered.
A celebration of Scott’s life will be held on September 20th, located at The Boal Chapel and Memorial Gardens, where family and friends will gather to share stories, music, and memories; just as he would have wanted.
