What can I say as today comes to an end... You are much loved by such a mixed "family". We each have our special memories, but I will hold deep in my heart all the little nuances that were shared by just us alone. Love you and know you are safe and happy with Grannie and GrandDad and Mom and Dad.

Bob's expertise and knowledge made him the go to guy for young engineers and others at the City of Vancouver.  He seemed to know every aspect of every bylaw that we had to work with and was always helpful in getting approvals for everything from budgets to Council reports.  He always made the time to impart his knowledge along with a story or two.  He had a good sense of humour and cared immensely about the City and its staff.  Although I lost track of Bob after he retired I have never forgotten him and I am thankful to have known him and worked with him.  RIP Bob.

We moved into the house just behind Uncle Bob's place in 1985. I was only 5 years old back then and the roads around our houses were still gravel before they were paved for Expo '86. Every day after school, and then after work, I frequently see Uncle Bob outside doing garden work and house maintenance or even helping my dad with our own house with his engineering knowledge.

I remember my dad going over his place quite often to chat and say hi to check in. Uncle Bob was very kind to my mother but especially my brother and I, always baking us cookies for our birthdays in May.

He always had really great stories to say about the history of Vancouver. He had a huge collection of old news paper articles and books which I was very interested in.

I will miss all the stories we shared, the smell of his home, and all the history in it from the carpet to the furniture and all the knick knacks he had. Will miss you Uncle Bob! I'm sure you're smiling down on all of us.

Our family the Alexanders will miss Bob a lot. He always brought a quiet humour and a gentle genius to a conversation.Memories of sitting in his front room at xmas with his new red cardigan that Nanny knit for him is etched in my mind. He was a good friend to my father Richard and a kind human to all.David Alexander

Uncle Bob was a special guy.  I will miss him a lot.   He always liked a cup of coffee and a piece of lemon loaf in the morning before breakfast.

Such a special man in our lives.  Always so thoughtful and generous. Uncle Bob never missed a birthday or special occasion. His cards were full of love and he took such care in doing them! We always loved finding one of his cards in our mailbox! 
Uncle Bob will be missed.  He will always hold a special place in our hearts and in our memories!

"Uncle BOB", a name commonly used around our household in many conversations. For Bruce, Kim, Stephanie, and Julia, the generosity and thoughtfulness of all the birthday wishes and cards will be highly remember. The anticipation of the mail arriving close to your birthday was reveled by all of us back in the day. The suspensefulness and hilarity of the forever changing cheque amounts still today, leave us both mystified and grateful. You will be missed by all. Love you.
