Roy was born in the NWT in 1936, the 8th of 10 children. He joined the airforce in 1957 ending up in Vancouver in 1962. He married Bonnie Baker in 1960. His daughter, Corrilyn, was born in 1962. He was a butcher for Super Valu Stores, eventually owning two different stores. After that, he went to work for Hallmark Poultry where he stayed for many years. Roy married Sylvia Nicol in 1989, living in Richmond then Cloverdale where he resided for 22 years. Roy loved to travel, play golf, curl and walking which he did right up until the last 2 months of his life. He was loved and he leaves to miss him, his wife Sylvia, his daughter, Corrilyn and his granddaughter, Kailey. He was loved by many friends and extended family.
