Seyed Mostafa Peyk

Mostafa, born in Tehran, Iran on October 6, 1928, is survived by his adored wife and life partner of 59 years, Ladan and his three children, Naveed (Shawna), Nader (Anoosheh) and Reza.

Earlier in Mostafa’s life, he briefly took a role as a teacher, but his goal was always to join the policing academy as many of his family were members of the police force and the military. One of Mostafa’s uncles was an important motivation for him to want to pursue this path. He later enrolled in an exclusive policing academy in Tehran, Iran and worked his way through the ranks when he retired in 1979 as a colonel. Throughout his career, and especially during the 1979 revolution, he held several high ranking and consequential positions. Despite all pressures, he faithfully fulfilled his duty and his sacred oath to protect the people.

Mostafa immigrated to Canada with his family in 1995 and called North Vancouver, BC his home. North Vancouver was surely his favourite place to live and he referred to it often as heaven on earth!

As a family man, he truly dedicated his life to his wife and children. A tough yet gentle and loving man. A leader yet an open-minded learner. A father who put you at ease with his presence alone. A rock who never wavered in his values. An honest and honourable man, who lived with a set of values that were non-negotiable. A man of very few words and yet words to live by. He never failed to tell his adored wife the vast amount of love he had for her. He made a point of reminding her daily. To his children, he was truly a superhero. A superhuman that will never be duplicated.

His favourite pastime was to remind everyone around him of the very best part of them. His zest for life was unmatched. He was strong and independent up until the very end. He was known to his adored wife as Mosijoon and to his children simply as Pedaram. We are lucky to be able to call this magnificent man our husband and father. His legacy will live on through his family for many years to come. Pedaram Mamoon.
