Susan was born the second child to Tosh & Roy Yamashita in Toronto, ON. Her older brother Robert Yamashita was her protector as he was always more adventurous than shy Susan.
Susan and Howard married in 1971 in Toronto and started their family with their daughter Jodie, then son Craig. They moved to North Vancouver, BC where they planted their home roots since 1979 and having their son Cory.
Susan was a graduating student from the first Fashion Design class at Seneca College. She later pursued a career as a Legal Assistant before settling in as a stay at home mom.
Susan had a love for crafts. She was known to plan months in advance of the next knitted project for a family or friend’s special occasion. She could have filled a store with all the projects she completed, let alone all the bins of colored yarns and supplies. Susan was creative & artistic. She put so much heart and thoughtful detail into each and every kids birthday party goodie bags.
Her family was her pride, she was so supportive of all her kids and grandchildren’s accomplishments and milestones.
Susan loved keeping in touch with loved ones through her email updates. She was known to be a reminder that the Christmas holidays were coming when family & friends received her Christmas cards as she was always prepared early.
We will miss our beloved Mom/Grandma/Wife/Sister/Aunt/Cousin/Niece/Friend.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband Howard; three children Jodie (Joe Udzenija), Craig (Stephanie Louie) and Cory (Kiki Lui); three grandchildren Molly, Tadashi & Ryden; sibling Bob Yamashita (Alice).
