The sun rose on Jan. 20, 1928 in Saskatoon, Sask. with the arrival of Clara and Jim’s first child, William. Bill’s sister Rosemary arrived five years later. Their childhoods were spent in Sask. Bill and Florence married in 1952 and the newlyweds followed Jim and Clara’s lead, moving to North Vancouver. Bill worked at the shipyards. He later became a journeyman carpenter and had a rewarding 28 year career with Dominion Construction. He and Flo had great fun raising two children, Shirley and Lenard. Bill lovingly used his skills to build a boat, a home and cottage for his family. He was proud of and loved his grandsons: Jesse, Dylan and Kevin. Both he and Flo enjoyed music, reading, boating, fishing and the company of their friends. Bill enjoyed baseball, CFL football, the Canucks and in later years his Yorkie, Mandy. Bill was predeceased by Flo in 1991. He later met Sheila Pratt and together they travelled the world until shortly before her death in 2008. Rosemary passed away in 2013 and after a life well lived, the sun set for our Dad/Grandpa on Dec. 10th, 2015. The family would like to thank Drs. Adair, Jiwani (N.D.), Taylor and Lau for their care and service to Bill. Please join our celebration of Bill’s life on Wed. Jan. 20th at 2:00pm, Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Rd. North Vancouver.
