

William (Bill) Herbert Lowden passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 21st, 2021, at the age of 88. He was born on December 8th, 1932, in Vancouver B.C. to Herbert and Isabell Lowden.
Bill grew up in Kerrisdale where he spent his youth playing on the "Kerries" hockey team and attending the local Presbyterian Church. It was there that he would eventually meet the love of his life, Angela his wife of 66 years.
From a young age, Bill took on the responsibility of running the family business, W.H. Lowden, building it into a thriving enterprise for years to come. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, known for his humility, hard work, and unwavering dedication to his family.
A talented, musician, Bill started on the organ before learning the euphonium later in life. He shared his love of music with the community by playing in the Little Mountain Brass band and BC Regiment Band. He was also an avid golfer and enjoyed training his many dogs and competing in field trials.
He gave generously to his community, including volunteering with the YVR Green Coats. His beaming smile, wonderful sense of humor and contagious energy made him a joy to be around.
He is survived by his son Christopher, daughter Donna, grandson Andrew, granddaughter Ann Marie, and four great-grandkids, who will forever cherish his memory and carry forward his legacy of kindness and community service.
Though he may have left this world, his generous spirit and love for life will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew and cherished him.
A memorial service will be held on March 8th, 2025, at Kerrisdale Presbyterian Church at 2:00 PM. 2733 West 41st Ave. Vancouver, BC.
