Alton "Cootie" Lewis

The family will receive guest on Monday, March 21, 2022 from 6pm-8pm. The Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2022, 11:00am at Sunset Funeral Home, Followed by graveside service, with Taps and presentation of the flag. Services will be officiated by Pastor Greg Strickland and Music by Pastor Kyle McCarty, with a special song dedicated to Daddy from one of his grandson's.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard Orlando Lewis and Kizzie Christine (Simmons), sister, Martha Lewis Hoggle Cranford, and brother Andrew Lewis.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jean Beard Lewis; Daughters, Nancy Fondren (Hoyt), Robin Waid, Donna Medders (Scott) and Mary Geddes (Pat); Grandchildren, Rusty Fondren, Eric Fondren, Adam Waid, Tyler Waid, Russell Andrews, Deacon Medders, Mabry Medders, Daniel Geddes, and David Geddes, 12 Great Grands and 1 Great Great Granddaughter; Brothers Billy Lewis and Chester Lewis; numerous nieces, nephews and special cousins.

To know our Daddy was to love him. His friends are too numerous to count. Many of you have been mentioned in Daddy's story telling over the years, and you all were loved greatly.

There are no words to accurately express our heartfelt gratitude to each of Daddy's grandchildren for your immeasurable love for your "Papaw". His love for each of you was different, as each of your personalities were different; however, the love he had for each of you was without end. His world revolved around his grands. He was so very proud of each one of you! He said it often.

Pallbearers are his grandsons; Rusty Fondren, Eric Fondren, Adam Waid, Tyler Waid, Russell Andrews, Deacon Medders, Daniel Geddes, David Geddes and his one special Granddaughter, Mabry Medders.
