Darryl Glenn Guy Sr.

NORTHPORT Darryl Glenn Guy, Sr., age 53, of Northport, died August 16, 2013, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Smith and Rev. Lewis Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his father, Warren G. Guy; mother, Sara D. Guy; and brother, David L. Guy.

Survivors include his wife, Denise Beaty Guy; daughters, Danielle Elizabeth Guy and Daphne Meshell Guy; son, Darryl “D.J.” Glenn Guy Jr. (Allison); and sister, Debbie Guy Fulgam, all of Tuscaloosa; brother, Jerry Guy (Sherry) of Houston, Texas; uncle, Robert “Buddy” Guy (Faye); grandchildren, Gavin Charles Guy, Colton Russell Guy, Samuel Warren Guy, and Garrett Lynwood Guy, all of Tuscaloosa; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Darryl was a compassionate and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his four precious grandsons. Darryl never met a stranger and that included many furry friends throughout the years as well. He was, is, and always will be loved my many and never forgotten.

Pallbearers will be Phil Palmer, Richie Shinholster, David Howell, Hunter Herring, Joey Jones, Rob Ray, Kole Dogan, and Micah Aplin.

Honorary pallbearers are employees of Frito Lay and members of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Daphne Guy College Fund, care of Renasant Bank, 1806 6th St., Suite 200, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401.
